Thanks to donations made to NorthCare Charity and funding from NHS Charities Together, NorthCare charity has been able to make multiple improvements across Bury, Oldham, Rochdale and Salford to benefit the wellbeing of staff, patients and visitors.

One project that is particularly special is the installation of new illuminating ceiling tiles in the Critical Care Unit (CCU) at Salford Royal. These tiles provide stunning visuals, such as blue skies and trees, for anyone on the ward – giving the impression of looking through a window.

Julie Cheney, Critical Care Consultant Nurse at Salford Royal Hospital said:

“We’re delighted to be able to make this transformation to our ward and look forward to creating uplifting and tranquil spaces for our patients and their families during what is understandably a distressful and anxious time.”

“Our team already works incredibly hard to provide the best possible care and environment for those unfortunate enough to be on CCU, but by making these small changes to our surroundings in such a creative way, we believe it will have a big impact on the wellbeing of our patients, their families and our staff too.”
