We’re delighted the Pritchard brothers, AJ and Curtis, are using their professional dance skills to get the nation dancing and raise funds for our Covid-19 Urgent Appeal. They are leading a series of video tutorials which will end in a virtual group performance on April 5. Find out more in the official press release below.
Professional dancers AJ and Curtis Pritchard are on a mission to get the nation dancing while raising money for the UK’s fantastic NHS workers.
The brothers are using the power of social media to encourage the public to get active and learn their fun dance routine.Throughout the week there will be three video tutorials and a practise session across their channels from Wednesday 1st April. On Sunday 5th April at 6pm the country can come together and join the virtual, 60-second group performance. The challenge is for everyone, all ages and all abilities – the aim is to raise money for the NHS heroes in the midst of fighting COVID-19.
At a time of uncertainty, whilst millions are at home, AJ and Curtis want to keep spirits lifted whilst also encouraging people to donate and support those on the frontline. The duo will personally be contributing as a pledge to encourage the nation to join in too. Whether it’s a donation of £1 or £100, together the public can help NHS staff and volunteers in their greatest hour of need… all whilst doing something fun which can get everyone’s endorphins flowing!
So, whether you’re joining solo or as a household, all you need to do is watch the simple-to-follow dance tutorials each day. They will be available at 6pm daily on both AJ and Curtis’ Instagram pages (@aj11ace, @curtispritchard12) from Wednesday 1st April. They will host an Instagram Live on Saturday 4th April at midday to rehearse the routine, ahead of the main performance on Sunday evening. The public can share their efforts throughout the week with the hashtag #DressupDanceDonate and encourage donations to the cause.
AJ and Curtis Pritchard comment:
‘Curtis and I are on a mission to get the whole nation dancing and feeling united, all whilst raising funds for the NHS heroes. We want to make it fun for all ages which is why we’ve added the dressing up element in, but this is not essential. Whether you’re dancing in your PJ’s, fancy dress or a salsa outfit, it’s the taking part that counts. We can’t wait to see the videos of everyone practising and joining in – we will be sharing some of these on our socials too! Get your dancing shoes on everyone and get ready to #DressupDanceDonate’.
Ellie Orton, NHS Charities Together Chief Executive says:
‘Thank you, AJ and Curtis, for helping to get the nation dancing and to donate to our Covid-19 Urgent Appeal. Your support truly matters. And thank you everyone who has come forward to support our COVID-19 Urgent Appeal so we in turn can support NHS staff and volunteers who are caring for patients every day.’
