NHS Charities Together announces the appointment of Chris Clements to the newly created role of Chief Operating Officer.
Chris Clements takes on the new role in September, joining the national organisation caring for the NHS from his previous role as Chief Finance and Impact Officer at Social Finance. The Chief Operating Officer post has been created to oversee the delivery of the charity’s ongoing strategy beyond the Covid appeal, providing extra support to NHS staff, patients and communities at a time of immense challenge for healthcare services.
Clements will play a significant role in developing and implementing the business development strategy to help NHS Charities Together – along with its network of 230 NHS Charities across the UK – reach their collective mission to help the NHS thrive and make sure everyone gets the healthcare they deserve.
Ellie Orton OBE, Chief Executive of NHS Charities Together, said:
“We are thrilled to welcome Chris Clements on board, who brings with him a wealth of knowledge and expertise including within HR, digital transformation and operational development in a range of organisations of various scales – all of which will be integral to our continued success and sustainability. I look forward to working closely with Chris in helping us deliver our strategic objectives and reach our united mission that everyone is able to access the best possible healthcare, no matter what.”
Chris Clements, Chief Operating Officer at NHS Charities Together, said:
“After almost 9 years at Social Finance I am excited to take on a new challenge. My previous experience leading on financial and commercial strategy across a complex mix of business models means I can really hit the ground running in this new role.
“As NHS Charities Together takes forward its strategy beyond the Covid appeal, continuing to give extra support to NHS staff and creating better healthcare for everyone, it has never been a more interesting time to join the organisation. Collectively we can help improve health and build resilience in the community, tackle unequal access to healthcare and poorer health outcomes and recognise and invest in innovation within the NHS.”
