Brighter Days Are Coming.

Running to say thank you to the NHS

Seeing the pressures on the NHS first-hand, Tom is running the London Landmarks Half Marathon in April 2026 to make a difference.

Tom J's story

“I’m running the London Landmarks Half Marathon to raise money for NHS Charities Together, a cause that is incredibly important to me.

The NHS is under immense pressure. Staff shortages, long waiting lists, and increasing demand mean that patients are waiting longer for care and facing increasing challenges in accessing the support they need. Despite this, the NHS continues to provide care at its best during some of the most difficult moments in people’s lives, often with limited resources. Support beyond standard NHS funding is vital to help improve patient experiences and outcomes.

As a medical student, I see first-hand the impact that pressures within the NHS have on patients and their families. I also see how additional support, whether through improved facilities, enhanced services, or community health initiatives, can make a real difference to patient care. NHS Charities Together helps fund projects that directly benefit patients, supporting their wellbeing, dignity, and experience at times when it matters most.

By running this race, I want to do my small part to support the patients who rely on the NHS every day. Every donation, no matter the size, helps make a real difference. Thank you!”
