Supporting workforce wellbeing
By providing practical and emotional support to our incredible NHS staff and volunteers, we are ensuring their mental health and wellbeing is supported.

The NHS is its people. Its caring and dedicated staff and volunteers work tirelessly to provide incredible medical care. But they’re under more pressure than ever before and the UK is facing a health and care workforce crisis. Staff are reporting burnout and huge numbers of doctors and nurses are considering leaving their jobs.
It is vital that we’re there for our NHS key workers like they’re there for us. That’s why we’re listening to what they need and with the help of our supporters, doing everything we can to support their mental health and wellbeing. We know that supporting staff is not just good for them, but essential for making sure patients receive the best care possible.

TriM volunteers
NHS staff faced relentless pressures throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, from concerns about passing the virus on, to saying goodbye to patients and colleagues.
The TRiM (Trauma Risk Management) service at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust gave its staff the support they needed to keep going, and NHS Charities Together provide funding for County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust Charity to train 53 staff volunteers.
