Natalie's story

Running to say thank you to the NHS
Natalie is taking on the London Landmarks Half Marathon this April to support NHS Charities Together.
Inspired by her own deeply personal journey with the NHS, she’s fundraising as a way to say thank you for the care, compassion and life-changing support she received.
Natalie's story
“Looking at my beautiful baby this morning made me remember how lucky we were to have NHS funding to receive IVF. Without funding, I’m not sure at what point we could have spent the thousands of pounds needed to have our wonderful baby.
This then made me think about everything, from the GP referral to all the tests, procedures, operations and consultant time I received in the four years leading up to our IVF journey.
The early pregnancy clinic treated us so well during our missed miscarriage and the subsequent surgical miscarriage for our first angel baby.
Each time we have walked into Guildford Hospital or Care Fertility Clinic in Woking, we have only had to pay for parking, which doesn’t even go to the hospital.
Our fertility journey has cost the NHS thousands. I cannot explain how grateful I am, and I’ve decided that over my lifetime I would like to fundraise and donate enough to the NHS so hopefully someone else can have a perfect baby too.
This fundraising goes to the NHS in general, not specifically to fertility treatments, so it benefits all departments.”

We have lots of different events running throughout the year. It’s never been easier, or more fun, to support the NHS.
