Impact of Philanthropy

NHS charities have always played an important role in supporting the NHS throughout its history – funding research, supporting the patient experience and enabling the latest advancements in health care.

It is not the job of the charity sector to address day-to-day funding needs, but we have a vital role to play in creating healthy communities, accelerating ideas and helping the NHS to thrive. Today we are needed more than ever.

As the national charity caring for the NHS and the member body representing all NHS charities, we are uniquely placed to reach the 1.5 million patients that are seen by the NHS every day, and to support and influence its governing bodies.

You can read more about the impactful programmes we are delivering to support the health and wellbeing of NHS staff and help to improve health for patients thanks to public support.

Ways to Give

Donating Shares

A simple and tax effective way to give. NHS Charities Together do not accept gifts of shares but ask you to sell shares on our behalf. You can do this and still claim tax relief for the donation, but you must keep records of the gift and correspondence from us confirming that you are selling them for this purpose.

Expert philanthropy advice

We welcome the opportunity to work with you and or your professional advisors to discuss the impact a transformational gift could make.

Matched funding

We work with a variety of public and private funders to bring our work to fruition. We would be delighted to talk to you about how your donation could be used to leverage further support.

Making your gift go even further

Gift Aid is a way for you to make your donation go 25% further.

If you are a UK tax-payer and give us permission, we can reclaim an additional 25% tax on your donation. If you pay tax at the higher rate, you can reclaim tax relief on your gross donation at 20% (i.e. the difference between the higher rate of tax at 40% and the basic rate at 20%).

What do we mean by a philanthropic gift?

At NHS Charities Together we are incredibly grateful for gifts of any size.

If you are considering making a gift of £10,000 or more, our specialist team would love to connect so we can discuss the impact a significant gift could make in more detail.
