Popular ideas

There are lots of ways you can raise money for charity, here are some of our supporters’ favourites.

Start an active challenge

Sign up to an organised sporting challenge, or invent one of your own. Put together a team to break a Guinness World Record, or just take it at your own pace. Even a daily walk round the local park can raise money.

Celebrate a special occasion

Many people choose to ask for donations instead of presents. Or you take up a relevant challenge – like visit 30 UK landmarks before your 30th birthday or walk 50 miles together for a 50th anniversary.

Host a party

Make the most of a special event, like Eurovision or the Grand National. Host a party and raise money by holding a sweepstake or asking for a donation.

Get crafty

If you love making things, then go ahead and produce some art, jewellery or crafts, and sell them to friends and family.

Set up a gardening competition

So many of us enjoy spending time in our gardens, so why not challenge your neighbours to grow the tallest sunflower or the biggest veg? Cucumbers, pumpkins, courgettes and tomatoes are all great options.

Bake your way to success

Who doesn’t love a cake and cookie sale? Put your apron on, bake your favourite recipe and hold a bake sale at school. Yum!

Why not give something up?

Get healthy and raise money at the same time. Get sponsored to give up something for a week, such as chocolate or sweets, or maybe even put away all devices!
