BE THERE
FOR THEM

It’s hard to imagine what our NHS teams are going through as they continue to care for huge numbers of patients affected by Covid-19.

As staff work longer hours to deal with increased hospitalisations and an ambitious booster programme, all while putting themselves at risk, it’s hardly surprising that many are also dealing with anxiety, depression and even post-traumatic stress disorder, and still need our support.

“You don’t stop thinking about the people you’ve cared for and you get very emotional. You keep working through it, and it’s only afterwards when you think about it that you realise the impact. I don’t think we could have done all that we have without the support of the public.”

“It’s been challenging for all staff, including background staff. So much has happened over the past year and until you actually stop and think about what we have been through, you don’t realise how much of an effect it has had on you. I don’t know how staff on the immediate frontline have coped – they are truly amazing.”

Angela Rimington, COVID-19 Swabbing Clinical Administration Officer at Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
