NHS Charities across the UK
There are over 230 local and specialist NHS charities across the UK supporting hospitals, ambulance trusts, mental health trusts and community health services.

How do NHS charities work?
Each charity supports the NHS in different ways - but what they have in common is an aim to make every day better for patients - whether by supporting staff and volunteers, improving buildings and facilities, or championing the well-known health benefits of arts and green spaces in the community.
Each NHS charity raises their own funds, and NHS Charities Together also supports them with funding from the money that we raise nationally, as well helping them to grow and develop so that the entire sector can have as much impact as possible.
The incredible potential of the NHS charity network
Charities have played an important role in supporting the NHS since it’s conception, and the sector continues to grow - impacting the lives of millions of people each year by investing in projects and initiatives that support patients, staff and their local communities.

By working together alongside the NHS and partners, we have the potential to do so much more to drive change and help transform healthcare for everyone in the UK. We can help the NHS to innovate and adapt to challenges, and support communities to live well and take the pressure off services.
At NHS Charities Together we provide support to over 230 member NHS charities - and where needed their NHS Corporate Trusts - covering networking, training, advocacy and our collective voice to help maximise the potential of every NHS charity for the benefit of patients.
