To date, the Stars Appeal which supports Salisbury District Hospital has received £113,000 of funding from our Covid-19 Appeal. This includes a recent grant of £50,000 which has been spent on a range of staff and patient wellbeing projects.

Dave Cates, Head of Fundraising, said: “We are hugely grateful to NHS Charities Together and the many thousands of people who have supported their Covid-19 Appeal. Their generosity continues to enable us to provide support to both staff and patients throughout the Coronavirus pandemic.”

Thanks to continued support for our appeal, the Stars Appeal has enabled NHS staff to become accredited Mental Health First Aiders so they are equipped with the skills they need to support their own and others’ wellbeing during Covid-19 and beyond.

Free Stars Appeal Wi-Fi has also been funded to keep staff and patients connected with loved ones. A dedicated staff counsellor and mental health nurse have also been provided to help staff cope with everything they are going through, along with specialist simulation training to ensure staff are well prepared for the many challenging situations they are facing.
